Nature of request
Writ of Richard II to the sheriff of Staffordshire commanding him to direct a scire facias to Maureward to come before the king in Chancery on the octave of St John the Baptist to show why his letters of collation to Wolvey prebend should not be revoked, Roger de Grey having complained by petition that Maureward had expelled him from the prebend.1)
Nature of endorsement
William Chetewynd.2) It is to be caused to be known that Mawreward should come at a day and place contained in the writ to do what is required by the writ by Folfen, Rasshawe, Moore and Solyhull.3) At which day, by the assent of the parties, a day is given to the octave of Michaelmas next.
