Note
Dated on the guard to the period 1451-62, with reference to the abbacy of John, Abbot of Tavistock, and to (otherwise unrelated) appearances on the patent roll of various people mentioned within the petition. However, John Dynyngton was abbot between 1451 and 1490, and although the other references would suggest the earlier part of that period, the reason for the 1462 date is unclear.
