Nature of request
The petitioner's request the restoration of the manor of Bolton and other property in Yapham, which ought to descend to Marie as daughter and heir of Thomas de Bolton. On her father's death, and during her minority, the property was granted to the keeping of her mother Agnes and her husband, John de Lokton, for the sustenance of Marie. However, following the forfeiture of John de Lokton, an inquisition held before Garton and Felyngley wrongly found that John de Lokton held these for life in right of his wife as dower, and they were taken into the king's hands.
