Nature of request
Thomas de Erdeswyk states that the king lately appointed the Earl of Stafford to make agreement between him and Humphrey de Stafford the younger regarding the manor of Bramshall, and the Earl summoned the parties to appear at Stafford castle before him and the justices. However, Humphrey replied that he did not wish to come to agreement but wished to pursue a writ of assize in the county. He therefore requests that the king order the justices to inform him of the matter, and to order the justices of assize to provide remedy, so that he is not disinherited by the affinity and maintenance of Humphrey.
