The manor of Preston is now in the king's hands following the forfeiture of Burley.

Note (Additional information about the record)
- Clearly dates to some point after the forfeiture and execution of Burley in 1388. A note on the guard suggests that the petition was formerly enclosed in the chancery warrant forming no.7650 of C 81/529, dated 4 November 1391 and relating to this matter, and the similar patterns of damage to the two documents would seem to confirm this.
