Dated on the guard to 1398, with reference to the chancery warrant with which this petition was formerly enclosed, dated at Shrewsbury on 6 February 1398. A grant of this castle was made to the petitioner on 17 February 1398, and the duplicate petition at SC 8/251/12504 may have been enclosed in a similar warrant issued only three days earlier.
