Note
Dated on the guard to c. 1398, with reference to a grant of this castle to the petitioner on 17 February 1398. The chancery warrant with which this petition was apparently formerly enclosed (according to notes on the guards of the two documents) was issued at Shrewsbury on 3 February 1398, but it is unclear whether the enclosure slits on the two documents actually match. However, the dating is similar to the warrant enclosing the duplicate petition at SC 8/251/12506.
