Nature of request
Routh requests justice since on 20 September in the tenth year of the King's reign [1386], Robert, late Duke of Ireland gave him the manor of Cockfield for life, paying 10s each yearly to six grooms of the stable for their wages, and by the King's letters patent the Countess of Oxford has taken all the manors, lands and tenements which belonged to Robert on the day of his forfeiture, and removed the petitioner from his estate. He also requests that the countess be ordered by scire facias to declare if she knows any reason why Routh should not be restored to his estate.
