Nature of request
Bole, Chode and Trynche request that whereas they were with the King on his last expedition in Scotland in the company of the Earl of Arundel and Surrey from 14 August to 29 August in the first year of his reign [1400] and so could not appear before Brenchesley, West, Rickhill, Percy and Blast in the assize of novel disseisin between William and Margaret Burchester and themselves, but they were later taken before Brenchesley and West at Uckfield and outlawed for disseising the Burchesters with force and arms from tenements in Horsham, Nuthurst and Broadwater, so that they were outlawed in Sussex for the entire time they were with the King on his expedition, that their outlawry be annulled if they were outlawed between the said 14 August and 29 August.
