Herdwike requests that whereas by the King's letters patent of 8 May last he was granted for life a tun of wine yearly in the port of Bristol by the King's butler or his lieutenant and livery yearly by the keeper of the Great Wardrobe, as do other clerks of the King's household, that the letters be rewritten so that he receives livery yearly as do clerks of the Chancery.

Dated on the guard to 1401, with reference to CPR 1399-1401, p. 329, a grant for life to Hardwick of a tun of wine and livery yearly as clerks of Chancery have, in accordance with this petition. This is also the date of the Chancery warrant with which it was formerly enclosed (C 81/606 no.2368).
