- Caleway requests that whereas the King in the twelfth year of his reign [1388-9] granted him letters of protection to reside in Newcastle upon Tyne or elsewhere with his goods, since which time Oliver, Rosce, Colman and Lynne have assaulted and wounded him so that he barely escaped with his life, that a writ be granted ordering these evildoers to be before the council to answer for their actions, that the petitioner may have restitution, and that an example be made of the evildoers.
