Nature of request
Joan, widow of Donald de Hesilrigg, requests the confirmation to her of certain land in Cottingham. She states that at an inquisition held at Bawtry before Asplion and Parant found that Brigham and Despaigne were enfeoffed with this property on condition that they then grant it to Joan for the term of her life, with reversion to the Earl of Kent. The Earl has now suffered forfeiture, and Joan has been disinherited.
