The burgesses of Dunstable request remedy since the King's progenitors granted the town many liberties and franchises at their foundation, but lately they have been disturbed by the prior and convent of Dunstable, at whose instigation the bishop compelled them to rebuild their church and to build an altar of the Trinity there, and recently officers of the prior and convent have removed the altar by night and broken a beautiful tabernacle with the image of the Trinity, and have defiled and removed images of St Peter and St Paul painted on the walls.
