Stanley requests that, in consideration of the non-execution, so far as relates to the appropriation of the church, of the King's former grant to Bacon of the advowson of the church of Bassingbourn, parcel of the county and lordship of Richmondshire, that they may have licence to appropriate the same, notwithstanding that any person has been presented to the said church since the said first grant thereof; and that they may have licence for the Duke of Brittany to release and quitclaim to the petitioner and his chapter forever all their right and claim in this advowson, notwithstanding that the said Duke previously released the same to John, Duke of Lancaster and Earl of Richmond.
