- The warden and friars minor of Exeter request that whereas Edward [I] ordered the mayor and bailiffs of Exeter not to meddle with a piece of land adjoining the town walls given to them in alms by Edmund, late earl of Cornwall, which they have possessed peaceably for 111 years, that the King take the friars and piece of land into his special protection and order the mayor, bailiffs and commons of Exeter not to meddle therein.
