[Petition in 3 parts:]1) Lescun requests that, because of the gift made by Haustede to the lord of Noef Chastel, the king's enemy, a clause might be inserted in the king's grace to Fortaner: 'notwithstanding any grace or gift made or to be made' in safeguard of gifts to the petitioner.2) He requests that the bastide of Cerefrount, which the count of Armagnac holds, be put in the petitioner's grace.3) He requests that he can be paid in England what he is owed so he can continue his service as the treasurer has served him of nothing but £100.1)

The signet warrant with which this petition was formerly enclosed, no. 58 in C 81/1336, does not contain a year date and cannot be firmly assigned to a particular year. However, a date of 1342 is suggested on the guard, with reference to the close roll entry, which is dated 24 September 1342 and which may be the ultimate response to this petition, and other related petitions.
