Aleyn requests remedy and that he is able to have peace and hold his land in Wem in chief of the king as William le Botiller the grandfather enfeoffed Hugh, Aleyn's father, with a parcel of the manor of Wem without licence of the king which Botiller held in chief of the king, but Botiller the grandson ousted him and subsequently imprisoned him, and he cannot have a remedy except by the king. He also states that Botiller has usurped the lordship of Whixall.

Datable because the petition was enclosed in no. 20 in C 81/908, which is dated at Windsor on 31 July in an unspecified year, but must be of the reign of Edward III and after 1343, when the diplomatic form of the letter of privy seal began and probably dates to? 1365 on the basis of the dating of '39 Edw. 3' stamped on the guard.
