Nature of request
[Petition in 10 parts:]1) The dean and college request a grant of a piece of land for their cloister and other buildings.2) They request free entry and exit from the chapel day and night.3) They request free entry and exit by the great hall of Westminster without disturbance for those coming on pilgrimage.4) They request that no minister or servant of the chapel be attached, imprisoned or troubled for any trespass by the warden of the Palace except for life and limb or other felonies.5) They request grant of houses within the palace which were stables that were the earl of Kent's.6) They request the grant of the house that was the Earl of Kent's in the vill of Westminster.7) They request the grant of the tenement that was Seint Alban's in the vill of Westminster.8) They request the grant of the advowson of the church of Kiirkburton which was purchased from the prior and convent of Lewes, with a licence to appropriate the church.9) They request the date of the charter granted by the king be 1 January 27 [Edw. III].10) They request that it be granted that they be quit of tenths and all other charges granted by the clergy both of the churches that they hold, and those that they will hold in future.
