Nature of request
Courtenay requests that he be granted letters to the chancellor and treasurer and others of the council at Westminster to ordain that right be done to him and his tenants of Kerswell as the law demands and that he can have the services and customs that he and his predecessors have had in the manor. The tenants are untruthfully claiming to be free tenants.
Nature of endorsement
The letters and petition were viewed by the council and it was agreed that the tenants sue at the common law against Courtenay if they wish it.
