The petitioners, tenants of the earl of Pembroke, request that they be granted a writ to the sheriff of Norfolk to surcease, and that they are able to find sufficient mainprise to be before the justices at the day of the assize in the capias to answer the false plea brought against them by writ of trespass by Cathenache and Gras for which they were attached.

The petition dates to 1340 as the privy seal warrant with which the petition was formerly enclosed and the order to the sheriff of Norfolk to release the petitioners at mainprise date to 13 March 1340 (C 81/262/12631; CCR 1339-41, p.460).
