Nature of request
Eccleshale requests that the chancellor be commanded to ordain a remedy for him for the misprison concerning the prebend of St Columba of Tullow in the cathedral church of St Lazerian, Leighlin as Balscote has refused to suffer Eccleshale to have possession the prebend despite a definitive sentence passing against him, and holds it be force and has appealed to Rome.

Note
The petition dates to 1342 as the prebend was granted to the petitioner, and the grant to Balscote was revoked on 2 March 1342 (CPR 1340-3, pp.387, 389). The secret seal warrant possibly suggests that the petition dates to 1343 as it is dated in its dating clause to 28 December, and although no regnal year is given, the guard is stamped '17 Edw. 3' (C 81/1331/32)
