Colle, to whom the king has granted the office of Gauge, that no wine will be unloaded from ships until the merchants have agreed to pay the customs due on them to Colle, and if any merchant or master of ships does otherwise then the ship and wine be forfeit, as hitherto, Colle has been unable to collect them to his and the king's disinheritance.

The petition dates to 1344 as an order to the masters of ships and merchants bringing wine to the port of London to observe an ordinance concerning the landing of wine made in response to the complaint by the petitioner dates to 3 February 1344 (CPR 1343-5, p.194).
