Nature of request
The abbot and convent request that the king defend and maintain their church, and that they not be disinherited of the gifts of the king's progenitors in prejudice of the king's crown as Page has brought a plea by a false inquisition for the manor of Hendon. They also request that the chancellor be commanded not to make any writ for the plea to proceed without it being ordained by parliament or the council.
