Brocas requests that letters be sent to the chancellor to make letters patent under the great seal to seize the lands of Jacoumie de Merk into the king's hand as she holds them for life and Ingelram, her son and heir forfeited in her life, as Robert de Merk, her son has entered because of an entail. He further requests that he can enfeoff Ferrers to her and her heirs rendering £10 annually.

Note
The petition dates to 1345 as the privy seal warrant with which the petition was formerly enclosed dates to 20 May 1345 [19 Edw. III] (C 81/304/16865). The king ordered the escheator to take the lands into his hand on 20 May, and they were again granted to the petitioner with the requested right of enfeoffment on 14 June 1345 (CPR 1343-5, p.478; CCR 1343-6, p.534).
