Nature of request
Wellesle and the Lenfaunts request that the king release them from prison and pardon them for the mainprise of the earl of Desmond as they helped Dufford in the pursuit of the earl. They, with others, mainprised the earl to obtain his release from Dublin prison to have him at the prison when it was so commanded, but at the day specified they could not produce the earl, and although they helped in his pursuit Dufford imprisoned them and their lands were forfeit because of the terms of the mainprise.
