Nature of request
The citizens request that the chancellor, treasurer and chief chamberlain jointly or one of them have jurisdiction to redress defaults of the city, and that the bailiff be given express powers to hold and determine pleas according to custom. They have a charter excluding the steward and marshal, but it has now been suggested that the steward come in place of the treasurer which is repugnant to them.
