- Bourne requests that letters under the secret seal be granted to the chancellor that no privy seal or other order or any ratification be granted to present a certain cardinal of Rome to the church of Great Burstead in disturbance of the king's right. The king presented Bourne to the vicarage 20 years earlier during a vacancy in the archbishopric of Canterbury but he is now ousted by the cardinal.

Note (Additional information about the record)
- The petition is dated to? 1348 as the presentation in the patent rolls dated 30 August 1348 appears to relate to the petition (CPR 1348-50, p.148). However, the secret seal warrant is dated to 10 November, and although no regnal year is given the date '22 Edw. 3' is stamped on the guard, so that the petition may be later in this year or perhaps from 1347.
