Nature of request
The prior requests that it be ordained that the suit brought against him by Nesfield cease and that the annuity demanded from the priory not be paid. Nesfield is demanding an annuity allegedly granted to the hospital in the time of King John which has not been paid, the prior's predecessor alleging that the writing granting it was a forgery, but the keepers of the hospital continue to demand it and the arrears.

The petition dates to 1348 as the privy seal warrant with which it was formerly enclosed dates to 23 May 1348 [22 Edw. III] (C 81/331/19532). The petitioner was discharged of the charge on 24 July 1348 (CPR 1348-50, p.130).
