Nature of request
The prior and convent request a pardon for certain purchases of burgages in the city of Canterbury and woods in Meopham after the statute without licence, and they request that they can have a charter to continue to hold the same. They state that they had a charter of licence of the king to purchase £30 of land of their own fee.
Nature of endorsement
Although the land should escheat to the king, he grants that they can hold it to them and their successors by the services due and accustomed.
