Nature of request
The prior and convent request that they be pardoned for the purchase of certain lands held of the king in Canterbury from Haut, Ru and Skynner, and their own fee in Meopham from Haket without licence. They also request that they be granted letters to the chancellor to make the pardon and confirm their possession. They request a licence to purchase a further £30 of land.
Nature of endorsement
Although the lands are escheated because they were purchased against the form of the statute, the king grants to the prior and convent of his gift to hold from the king and other chief lords.
