1) De Pins and others request a grant from the king, they having procured that the town of la Reole came to the obedience of the king, making reference to the grant made to them by the earl of Lancaster.2) William de Mirall requests confirmation of the grant of £100 of bordelais made to him by the earl of Lancaster to be taken from the treasury of the Agenais for his part in the town of la Reole coming to the king's obedience.3) Bernard and Raymond de Pins request that the king grant his special grace to them and that the seneschal of Gascony and treasurer of the Agenais to hold to the grant made to them by the earl of Lancaster of £100 bordelais to be paid to them from the bailiwick of Port St Marie.4) Bonet de Pins, bachelor of canon law that he be granted a suitable pension of £20 annually for his life to be taken from the customs of Bordeaux.5) Bonet and Raymond de Pins request that the king make assignment for the £100 that the earl of Lancaster granted to Raymond, son of Raymond for his losses in the town of Bazas when the town of la Reole came to the king's obedience.6) Bonet and Raymond de Pins request that they may plead by proctor in the land of customary law of Vasadois and Bordelais against all their adversaries.7) Piquet request confirmation of the earl of Lancaster's grant to him of the escrivency of the bailiwick of the vill of Port St Marie for his life in recognition of his part in bringing the vill of la Reole to the king's obedience.8) Doat de Pins requests that the king grant a demand on the people of the castle of Sarrazin and upon their goods for the damage that they caused him by imprisoning him, they being in the obedience of the king of France.1)
Nature of endorsement
Concerning the first article the king wishes the letters of the earl of Lancaster be viewed and confirmed, and the petitioners continue to receive the grant made to them by the earl.2) Concerning the second and third points the king wishes that the letters be viewed and confirmed.3) Concerning the fourth article the king has retained two other clerks of the town at the request of the good people of la Reole, but the king will have regard for Master Bonet after these hours.4) Concerning the fifth article let the seneschal and constable be ordered to take good information of the destruction of his houses and the assignment made by the earl of Lancaster and make assignment until he should recover his rent in the town of Bazas.5) Concerning the sixth article the king has granted that they are able to plead by proctors during the present war.6) Concerning the seventh article the king wishes that the letters be viewed and confirmed with the clause notwithstanding certain gifts etc.7) Concerning the eighth article it seems to the council that this thing cannot be granted reasonably in times of truce or peace, but if he will demand another thing that is reasonable the king will do what is he is best able.
