Nature of request
The queen requests that the king will grant to the provost of Queen's Hall, Oxford, warden of the hospital of St Julian in Southampton called 'Meisondieu' and to the scholars and brothers and sisters that they and their successors are able to have and hold the hospital with all its possessions in free alms quit of all tolls and other charges. The king granted the hospital to the provost at the queen's request and their charters and muniments of liberties were burnt by the French ('gents de Galees').
