Nature of request
The abbot and convent request that the licence granted to the chapter of Coutances by the king to give and assign the manor of Winterborne with the advowson of the church there to them be confirmed as well as the charter of the chapter of Coutances granting them the same so that they cannot be further challenged in possession of the same by others or because the possessions are those of an alien priory. They recently were disseised by Yonge and others and recovered the same by an assize of novel disseisin.
Nature of endorsement
The king has granted the petition for a suitable fine to be made in Chancery according to the advice of Master Thoresby, elect of St David's.
