de Scales, Robert

King and council.

Scales requests remedy so that he is not disinherited as it was found by inquisition following the death of Tudenham that he held part of his lands of Scales, but none in chief of the king, but a second unauthorised petition found that he did hold in chief. After the inquisitions were returned into Chancery the lands were seized, but subsequently another inquisition was held, and as the inquisition found that Tudenham held nothing in chief of the king, and when this was returned the chancellor granted to Scales a day a fortnight after Hillary last past, but the keeper of the great seal did not wish to grant that the king's hand be removed without a warrant.
