Nature of request
Lacy requests a writ to the mayor and bailiffs of Chester to deliver him from prison so that he can pursue his business so that the king can be certified of his estate. He was accused by Mortimer of having been with Bruce in Ireland until Bruce's death in battle, and was indicted and outlawed and forced into exile and has a years safe-conduct from the king to pursue the matter and to obtain certification on this for the king from the justice of Ireland, but was imprisoned at Chester by the same malicious allegations made by Croft.

The petition dates to 1332 as the privy seal warrant with which it was formerly enclosed dates to 24 July 1331 [6 Edw. III] (C 81/192/5666).
