Nature of request
The petitioners, citizens of Dublin, Drogheda, Cork and Waterford, request that the justice of Ireland or the treasurer there be commanded to enquire by inquisition or by remembrance of the Exchequer as to whether they still owe for the victuals which they purveyed for the late king's Scottish war, and if they find that they are then this be levied from them, and if not then they be discharged. They also request they not be troubled to come to England on this matter. They were acquitted of the victuals, but a new demand has been made on them by order of the king, and they have been summoned to answer in England.
