Petitioners
John Pieres, king's clerk.
Name(s)
Pieres, John

King.

king's clerk
Nature of request
[The petition is almost completely illegible even under UV light, but appears to concern either the request for an oyer and terminer, or a complaint concerning the holding of one, the former being the more likely. The patent roll records an oyer and terminer granted to Pieres with Aylesbury and another assigned to take it, and with Westwood and others having broken Pieres close at Wengrave].

Places mentioned
Wengrave, Buckinghamshire.
People mentioned
Philip de Aylesbury

Note
The petition is dated to 1335 as the commission of oyer and terminer granted in the patent rolls that seems to be relevant to this petition dates to 1 February 1335 (CPR 1334-8, p.136).
