IR 90
1936-1977
District Record Maps are six-inch or 25-inch to a mile Ordnance Survey sheets on which an attempt was made to depict tithe plots shown on the original tithe maps in terms of accurate modern mapping. Plots outlined in red ink relate to plots on the original tithe maps; plots outlined in green depict later sub-divisions or tithe plots subject to tithe redemption annuities under the Tithe Act 1936. The maps thus provide a valuable link between the 19th-century tithe maps and modern property divisions.
This series also contains maps originally annexed to the Orders for Apportionment (IR 94) but which were too large to be filed with them. In such cases, an Order to detach the map was put with Order for Apportionment in place of the map.
