'Guernsey Plan of Clarence Battery shewing the parapets proposed to be heightened and curbs to be laid for Dwarf Trav: Platforms instead of the present Ground Platforms which are worn out': site plan, plan and section. Reference table on guns to be used. Scale: 1 inch to 20 feet. Compass indicator. Overlay: 'Plan and Section shewing the salient part of the Battery heightened to protect the guns on the two faces'. Inset: site plan of Clarence Battery showing and ranges and arcs of fire; scale: 1 inch to 300 yards; compass indicator. Annotated: 'Forwarded to the I.G. [Inspector General] of Fortifications with my letter dated 11 th June 1853'; signed Lieutenant Colonel P Barry, Commanding Royal Engineer. Also signed Lieutenant Colonel G B Fraser, Commanding Royal Artillery.
