Alderney: Gros-nez (or Gros Nez). (11) Sections showing the sites of the proposed works. Scale: 1 inch to 40 feet [1:480]. With later MS additions. (12) Contoured plan showing the proposed layout at Gros Nez battery. Scale: 1 inch to 40 feet. (14) Plan of the coast from Chateau L'Etoc to Rocque Tourgée showing the ranges and arcs of fire of proposed guns on the tower and batteries of Gros Nez. Scale: 1 inch to 400 feet [1:4,800]. Compass indicator. All signed by Lieutenant Colonel W C Ward, Commanding Royal Engineers, to accompany his letter to the Inspector General of Fortifications, Guernsey, 16 December 1848. Dimensions: (11) 44.3 cm x 55.7 cm; (12) 44.3 cm x 76 cm; (14) 41.4 cm x 104.2 cm.
