Ornate border of leaves and flowers. Table of steamboat routes and distances by water. Scale: 1 inch to 36 miles [1:2,280,960]. Inset: view of Maidens Rock, Lake Pepin, on the Mississippi River. By J Calvin Smith, New York; engraved by S Stiles, Sherman and Smith; published by J H Colton, 86 Cedar Street, 1845. Printed annotation: 'Entered according to Act of Congress in the year 1840 by J.C. Smith in the Clerks office of the District Court of the Southern district of New York'. With MS colouring.
