Somerset. Plans and sections of a proposed battery at Portishead. (1) 'Pl.3': sections to the rear of proposed battery. Scales: 1 inch to 25 feet [1:300]; and 1 inch 100 feet [1:1200]. (2) 'Pl.1': plan from Portishead Point to Black Nore, showing location of proposed battery. Approximate scale: 3.25 inches to 2 furlongs [1:4,874]. Compass indicator. (3) 'Pl.2': plan of proposed battery. Reference table. Scale: 1 inch to 25 feet [1:300]. All signed Lieutenant W Rudyerd, Royal Engineers, 2 April 1798; and annotated: 'Accompanying Lieut Rudyerd's letter to M: Gen l.[Major General] Morse, dated Portishead 4 th April 1798'. Dimensions: (1) 46 cm x 57.9 cm; (2) 47.8 cm x 64.5 cm; (3) 71.6 cm x 52.3 cm.
