Kent: Hythe. (8) 'Dover District Tracing of Shorncliffe [or Sandgate] Battery': plan. Scale: 1 inch to 60 feet. Compass indicator. Annotation: '(To Accompany C R E's [Commanding Royal Engineer's] report dated 10 th March 1872)'. Signed Colonel T B Collinson, Commanding Royal Engineers, 10 March 1873. MS pencil additions give instructions for plan amendments and strike through title, annotation and signature. (11) Similar version to (8); initialled [?E I B], 20 April 1874. Dimensions: (8) 78.7 cm x 76.2 cm; (11) 48.5 cm x 82.3 cm.
