Signed Major E D Malcolm, Royal Engineers, for Commander Royal Engineers, North Britain, 17 January 1878; and Colonel John Y Moggridge, Commander Royal Engineers, North Britain, 21 January 1878. Coloured MS additions show land purchased and leased by the War Department at the Hannahfield Estate, Dumfries.
