2 items extracted from WO 55/1562/1. Straits Settlements: Singapore. Two copies of an outline map showing military defences and the ranges of gun fire. Reference tables to batteries and forts; reference notes on pounder guns. Scale: 1 inch to 2 miles. Both copies signed by Lieutenant Colonel J H Freeth, Royal Engineers, 28 January 1864. Originally accompanied: (1) a memorandum on the defences of Singapore by Colonel O Cavenagh, Governor; (2) a report on military defences by Lieutenant Colonel Freeth. Dimensions: (1) 39 cm x 54 cm; (2) 39 cm x 51 cm.
