'Libya 1:500,000': 3 sheets of a map on multiple sheets: (1) sheet 2 'Tripoli' - MDR [Middle East Drawing and Reproduction] 125/6247; (2) sheets 3 and 9 (printed as a single sheet) 'Misurata' (Misratah) - MDR 125/6002; (3) sheet 10 'Sirte' (Surt) - MDR 125/1745. Reference tables to roads, railways, towns, the nature of the terrain, etc; glossaries to Arabic topographical terms and colour names; indexes to adjoining sheets; indexes and notes relating to gridlines. Compass indicators. Based on Italian maps produced at the 1:400,000 scale; reproduced by 512A Field Survey Company, Royal Engineers: (1-2) December 1941, (3) January 1942. Overprinting, coloured, to item (1) showing information about aerodromes, landing grounds, etc supplied by the Royal Air Force. Overprinting, coloured, to items (2-3) showing 'Going' information collected by units of the Eighth Army and arrangements for the movements of mixed mechanised forces. Reference tables to the overprint. The overprinting to items (2-3) by the Royal Engineers: (2) November 1942; (3) June 1942. Items (2-3) endorsed with reference notes to the 'Going' overprint.
