Five sheets of drawings of Castle Rushen. (1) No 1: 'Present Plan of the Court and adjoining Rooms'. Shows proposed alterations. (2) No 2: 'Plan shows the Enlargement of the Court, and its accommodation ...'. (3) 'Plan shows the Court, of the same dimensions, with the Judicial Seats and accommodation arranged Longitudinally'. (4) No 4: 'Transverse Elevation of the accommodation, & Section of Roof ...'; and no 5: 'Longitudinal Elevation of the accommodation, & Section of Roof & Sky Light ...'. Scale of (1-4): 1 inch to 6 feet [1:72]. (5) 'Sketch of Castle Rushen in Castletown, Isle of Man': plan showing buildings offered to the Ordnance; barracks to be converted into a store; room in the Governor's appartments to be reserved for the Council; rooms for military accommodation. Reference table. Scale: 1 inch to 20 feet [1:240]. The titles of (1-4) are listed on this sheet. This is a copy of a plan enclosed in Major Emmett's letter of 10 April 1833. Signed by S C Melhuish, Captain, Commanding Royal Engineer, 21 May 1836. Dimensions of sheets: (1-4) 38 cm x 24 cm; (5) 39 cm x 51 cm.
