(1) 'An Exact Survey of the Lands takeing [sic] in for erecting a Battery at Folkestone in Kent'. Scale: 1 inch to 80 feet [1:960]. Compass indicator. Drawn at the Royal Engineers Office, Hythe, 18 May 1847. Certified by Alexander Gordon, Captain, Royal Engineers, to be a true copy. (2) 'Plan of Folkestone Battery'. Shows the Ordnance boundary, encroachments on Ordnance property, Coastguard property, and land to be sold. Reference table. Scale: 1 inch to 40 feet. Compass indicator. Signed by Alexander Gordon, Captain, Royal Engineers, 20 May 1847. Both plans initialled by W B Tylden, Lieutenant Colonel, Commanding Royal Engineer, to accompany his letter of 22 May 1847. Dimensions of sheets: (1) 21 cm x 43 cm; (2) 31 cm x 47 cm.
