Six sheets of plans, elevations and sections, marked A to F, of barracks proposed to be built at Newcastle, including officers' accommodation, soldiers' accommodation, the officers' kitchen and stables, the hospital and hospital kitchen. Reference notes to colouring on (2). Scales: (1) not shown; (2) 1 inch to 50 feet; (3)-(6) 1 inch to 10 feet. Compass indicator on (2). Signed by Captain Alexander Gordon, Royal Engineers, 22 July 1844. (2) additionally signed by Captain William Biddlecomb Marlow, Royal Engineers, 22 May 1844. (6) additionally signed by Robert Baker, Board of Works. Originally accompanying a report dated 22 July 1844 from the Commander Royal Engineers [to the Inspector General of Fortifications]. Sheet sizes between 43.5 cm x 37.5 cm and 57 cm x 48 cm.
