Lancashire. Plan showing Ordnance land at Ashton-under-Lyne (now in Greater Manchester). The boundary, the exercise ground, a road and the barracks are also shown. Reference notes. Scale: 1 inch to 100 feet. Signed by Lieutenant Henry Grain, Royal Engineers, 11 September 1848 and by Major Thomas Foster, Royal Engineers, 12 September 1848. Originally accompanying a return of landed property dated 12 September 1848 by Grain and Foster to the Inspector General of Fortifications.
